Kestrel Solutions, a telecommunications startup, retained AAi to design their 34,500-square-foot corporate office. A key design challenge was to bring their 30-foot-high ceiling down to human scale without blocking natural light from the clerestory windows which extended to a height of 26 feet across the length of the building. AAi designed several floating ceiling levels, some with acoustical tiles and others with an open grid that allows daylight to stream through the windows. Additionally, AAi designed Kestrel’s administrative and engineering offices as well as their 20,000-square-foot manufacturing facility.
