Susan B. Mueller, Founder and President
Founder and President Susan Mueller is the driving force behind AAi’s 25 years of strong and steady growth. Her leadership, eye for talent, and commitment to quality are responsible for the firm’s high-caliber staff, continuing success, and unrivalled ability to build long-term client relationships. Sue is also a certified interior designer and an integral member of AAi’s interior design team. Her extensive portfolio includes a broad range of corporate and professional work spaces, in addition to a number of leading-edge technical facilities. Sue holds a B.A. in interior design from Purdue University.
Mary Jane Marshall, Vice President
Vice President Mary Jane Marshall has been with AAi since 1982, actively and continuously contributing to the firm’s management and design expertise. As principal-in-charge for large scale projects, she works closely with clients, team members, the construction manager, and consultants to ensure successful project completion within the established schedule and budget. As a designer—responsible for the design of more than two million square feet per year—she brings a resourceful, client-focused approach to corporate office design and tenant planning. Mary Jane holds a B.A. in interior design from Washington State University.
Dave Hopkins, Director of Architecture—Pleasanton Office
Dave Hopkins, Director of Architecture for AAi’s Pleasanton office, is a licensed architect with more than 24 years of experience. His expertise in all facets of architecture and design is a vital resource for the entire firm. Dave oversees all architectural work for the Pleasanton office, providing hands-on involvement from the very first interview to project completion. He is responsible for maintaining company standards and reviewing all production documents. In addition, he serves as the firm’s liaison to building officials, general contractors and consultants. Dave holds a B.A. in architecture, from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and has been employed by AAi for 10 years.
Daniel Dixson, Director of Architecture—San Jose Office
Daniel Dixson, Director of Architecture for AAi’s San Jose office, is a licensed architect with a strong technical background and substantial experience in construction project management. His 20 years of commercial architecture experience include pharmaceutical and high-tech industrial design, airline facility improvements, interior architecture, building renovation, and tenant improvement projects. Daniel oversees and is directly involved in all architectural work for the San Jose office. He is also responsible for developing and maintaining company design standards and reviewing all production documents. Daniel holds a B.A. in architecture from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.
Dencio “Vince” Vincent, Senior Architect
Senior Architect “Vince” Vincent is a licensed architect with a wealth of hands-on commercial experience. He has served as the architect for industry-leading high-tech facilities, major retail facilities, and office buildings throughout Northern California. At AAi, Vince handles a broad range of responsibilities from site selection to building shell design, exterior design to interior improvements. He also represents clients at meetings with building officials, general contractors, and consultants. Due to his thorough understanding of building codes and substantial experience with Bay Area building departments, he is a skilled navigator of the permit process. Vince holds a B.A. in architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Doreen Baum, Design Director
Design Director, Doreen Baum, is an accomplished designer and lighting specialist who brings insight, expertise, and an abundance of talent to every project. Since joining AAi in 1984, she has established a well-earned reputation for innovative, yet practical, design solutions that capture each client’s individuality. Doreen serves as project director for many of AAi’s large-scale specialty projects. Her wide-ranging experience includes the design of corporate headquarters, executive briefing centers, call centers, computer rooms, and technical training facilities. Doreen holds a B.S. in interior design from San Jose State University.
